                                          Chapter 2 

                                                          Figgin’ out Probs

       

             ”Ok. Where do you live?” was the first thing Todd said when he came over to Alice’s house on Saturday. “Well, my father is the manager of  the Venice Hotel.” “And do your hotel rooms have numbers?” “Yes.” “That’s where!”  said Alice. “How?” said Todd. “Well, those numbers were math problems. When it said Building (7 – 5) Room (8 x 7)—” ” Building 2 Room 56! That’s it! Ms. KcClousky’s room!” said Todd.  Alice started, “Well, we’re———” “Figgin’ out probs!” they said together.

Spring Break

What are you doing for spring break? For me, since I’m homeschooled, we do things differently. So I have two spring breaks. One at grandma’s house, one when our grandma comes to us. That will be a 3 day spring break. I think the other one, when we went do my grandma’s house, was 5 days. Today, in the school that we do piano, we have a spring break. And next week, my dance classes have a spring break. If you’d like, you can comment and tell me what you are doing for spring break.

                           This is a story I had to write for school.

                                                          Chapter 1

                                                          The Bully

Once, Alice Jones was hanging around when Todd Comiter came up to her. He was the school bully. Alice backed slowly away. But Todd suprised her. “I need your help with something.” “What?” Todd sighed, and said, “I saw a math dolphin somewhere. I caught it, and thought it would be a good project. But it went away. It left me a clue that said ‘Building (7 - 5) Number (8 x 7)’. But I don’t know what it means. Can you help, Alice?”

               Alice thought for a moment. She told him, “Sure if you stop bullying.”

            “It’s a deal!” She and Todd shook hands. And just in time, because right then the bell rang.

Saturday

             Saturday was a fun filled activity!!!! First, we get ready for something. Which is fun in my book. Next, swim lessons! Oh, how I love to swim! I learned to freestyle correctly, dive (cool!), and I am still working on breast stroke. Then, I went to Cici’s Pizza with some friends that lives in Goldsboro. Last, two birthday parties in a row!!!!! Mine, then my neighbor, Courtney’s. Courtney was born the day after me. Oh, so cool! What a fun-filled Saturday!

Caesar

Julius Caesar’s family claimed to be related to Romulus (founder of Rome). Caesar was born in Rome. When he was young he wanted to be a consul of Rome. Instead of a consul, since there were already enough, the people sent him out to help the Roman cities in Spain. Finally, he convinced the other consuls for them to become a Triumvirate. But when he became a consul, he ignored the Senate. The Roman Senate wished he would become more like Cinncinatus. But he just kept on doing his own way.

Have you missed someone……….

2 of my special friends who have, in this year and the last year, have moved away. One in another state, one in another city in North Carolina. But, now I have more than I had last time! God definitely gives.

I will miss them, but God makes them close. I got a scrapbook for Christmas and I have already proclaimed it the “Friends Scrapbook”. I really love what God does when you are sad or lonely. But now, I’m glad none other friends are moving away.

Gladiators

Gladiators were people who fought against other gladiators in Rome. They did it from about 72 AD. onward. Romans liked the sight of blood. One way they fought was with nets. One person tried to catch the other person and stab him.

The Pirates who don’t do anything MOVIE

Have you seen The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything movie by veggie tales? It is funny and scary. In one part, the mean pirate, Robert the Terrible, captured Prince Alexander and Princess Elouise and told them that if they would not tell him when their father was coming back or else they would die. He also captured them, because he wanted the throne ( He is their uncle). The cabin boys, Elliot (Larry), Sedgwick (Mr. Lunt), and George (Pa grape), were called by the Helpseeker to help them rescue Alexander, but it gets real tough! Hope you can see it!

My teacher is special

My teacher is very special. She is my mom. She teaches very well. Sometimes, we know more than her! Also, she is funny. She makes us energetic. She is a great teacher. I’m glad she is my teacher. I would not like anyone else! I love you mom!

Nazca Drawings

The Nazca Drawings are drawings that are in the ground in South America. They cannot be seen by ground, but if you go up by plane, you might see monkeys, humming birds, spiders, shapes and more! By ground, they may look like huge ditches in the ground. Some may be scorched by people and cars, but some are still able to be seen today.
